Editing services

I edit fiction, both adult and children’s, and occasionally take on other assignments including nonfiction and memoirs. Because I take great pride in my work, I limit the number of clients I work with at any one time in order to provide the total focus, care and attention your writing deserves.

Line editing: I will go through your manuscript from start to finish and edit completely for grammar, spelling, as well as style (drama, pacing, character development). Editing is done on a printed copy of your manuscript that I mail back to you, along with a detailed critique letter.

Note: I know it’s a big deal to hire an editor. It’s a financial investment in the quality of your work and it is also a vulnerable position to put yourself in. Therefore, if I feel your project is a good fit with my qualifications, I can edit one sample chapter of yours for a reduced rate if you’d like to dip your toe in the water before hiring me for your whole manuscript. You’ll get to see the quality of my editing, and just how much I may be able to improve and tighten your work.
